    Cut a long story short, struggling to find what I want spec/budget wise, incredibly (perhaps the most) frustrating shopping experience I've had... found this....
    http://www.misco.co.uk/SSinfo/~93919~/Viewsonic+N2010+20++LCD-TV.htm

    Is it any good? I just want an LCD TV that will be compatible with Freeview and Xbox, and also be able to support Xbox 360 in 720p. This should do it, but will the resolution of 640x480 affect the 720p display? Will it look a lot wrose than the higher resolution sets? As soon as I find a higher resolution set, the response time goes up. I was gonna get this:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=88552
    But the response time is high. I'm buying for Xbox 360 first and foremost, I'm just concerned that it'll look crap!

    Was also lookin at this, but its a monitor i think not LCD tv and Xbox 1 may not work with it:
    http://www.ebuyer.com/customer/prod...2hvd19wcm9kdWN0X292ZXJ2aWV3&product_uid=82660

    I've found decently priced LCDs but they either have low resolution, no 720p support or high response time. Suggestions anyone?

    I can't see how the Viwesonic will support Xbox 360 in 720p when its own native resolution is 640x480. You will struglle to find any 20" LCD that will do this as they tend to be 4:3 sets with similar resolutions. What you need is a widescreen model with at least a native resolution of 1280x720.

    Ah guess its back to square one! Don't suppose there's a decent shop/product finder available? Looking for an LCD is much much more difficult than when I bought my last CRT tv. alls i'm lookin for is:
    20"-24"
    16ms or lower response time
    component connection as well as scart/rgb connection
    1280x720 resolution
    can display 720p signal
    But I'm just goin round in circles...

    Typical Widescreen LCD sizes with a minimum of 1280x720 resolution range from 17", 23" and upwards. Try looking at sites like http://www.unbeatable.co.uk or http://www.empiredirect.co.uk these will at least give you an idea on whats out there currently. Also Amazon sometimes have some good LCD bargains.

    apologies to ask another stupid question - to view Xbox 360 in 720p would a set with 1280x720 resolution and a component connection do the job?

    Not knowing the exact specs of the Xbox360 but if it can output 720p over component then yes or alternatively if it has a DVI/HDMI output you can use this.
