Hi ive got my laptop connected up to my plasma via the sony strb 940 amp the picture displays fine quality wise and with the sound. I just cannot get the video to fill the screen, is this possible I'm using the divx player and messed around with the video display settings but whatever I do I just cant get it o fill the screen, I understand its wide screen so i'll get bars on the top and bottom but these are bars on the side of the screen aswell... any help should I be using another player maybe that will give me the true width of the plasma.

I cant figure out the aspect of my plasma maybe I can change that in the divx settings to get the picture.

thanks for taking the time to read, hopefully this is in the correct forum.

Not sure, I don't use that player, but a quick poke around the menus doesn't show it has the ability to re-size the image to fill the screen.

Try something like ZoomPlayer, I think that can do so.

Hmm, that could easily be the laptop panel itself scaling I guess, really not sure though.

thanks for the suggestions kragorn... Ive downloaded the doomplayer (havent had a chance this monring co I had to go to work) but I'll see if that can do really frustrating because its a picture in a picture if you no what i mean with banding around all the sides and no matter what I do I cant get it to the edge of the screen of the plasma, tried real player, windows media playuer 10 and divx player none of them can do it....

Am I right thinking that Ive downloaded a film that cant be made any wider?

When I watch an avi video on my 50" plasma, the picture quality is very poor. Is there a way to improve this in terms of the player or the files that I download?
