im shortly getting a 3d tv
it would be wall mounted
i read that a 3d you need to view it directly
my set up i would be looking up to the tv above eye level
is this ok to view the 3d

If I were you, I would think twice about mounting any TV, be it 2D or 3D, above eye level, as I could well imagine ending up with a sore neck after watching it for a while.

Otherwise, if this doesn't concern you, I'm not sure whether you would need to view it directly or not.

Cheers,

Martin.

Aside from neck strain, vertical viewing angles on LCD and/or LED TV are even worse than horizontal...not a good idea, and could impact picture quality (color, black levels), and probably 3D experience would take a slight hit consequently...

plasmas are different, you can only suffer from a painful neck...

I have new samsung plasma 3d TV which is mounted above my fireplace - my eye level is at the bottom of the screen.

I have not noticed any difference in picture quality and had no problems with a sore neck etc.

i wouldnt worry about it.

LCD TVs though do benefit from being watched straight on

The optimum height for a wall mounted TV is 600mm from the floor.
