I'm shortly to jump into buying a HD 'ready' TV and for the past couple of months I've not been able to get past the Panasonic 42" PV500 which currently retails for about £2k.

Now all of a sudden I'm reading about the new Sony BRAVIA models which are 40" and are selling for about £500 less.

Is there a BIG difference between these models or does the Panasonic still win hands down when comparing the two tv's??

    :lease:

I'm in the same position as you - can't decide what screen to get. As far as I have seen, the Panny PV500 looks good on every input, whereas the Sony only really shines on DVD and HD stuff - it really looks comparatively crud on Freeview + Sky.
