    Hi Guys and Gals :smashin:

I'm considering the purchase of a 37" Panny Viera, and collecting. I've never bought a plasma TV before, or indeed seen one packaged up.

If collecting, could I fit it into a big car (BMW 735)? Say, back seat, with flat packed cabinet in the boot? Or should I get a van (might be a bit of hassle getting hold of one).

    Cheers all.

    Elliot

I have just had a Panny 6 - 42 inch delivered and I dont see any problem with this fitting on your back seat, a 37 viera should be no probs.

Sorry to say matey but its best to take the van. I went to pick up my 42" Viera in a Hatchback and there was no way it was going to go on the back seat. I had to get the seats down to get it in. Both boxes are quite huge actually and if my cars back seats didn't go down I would have had to pick it up another day and that would've have peeved me off no end.

I think you should take a van.. rest is up to you dude. Welcome to the Viera club when you do get it!

I did read somewhere that transporing a plasma lying on it's face, even in the packaging, was not a good idea, and that it should be transported upright

    Hi,

Hoping to buy from JL, very helpful chap there said plasmas shouldn't be transported flat, always upright.

I've had my 37" Viera delivered today and you're right on the box it says that it should be transported upright. I'd organise a van if I were you.

I won't be opening this until Saturday - no time to set it up until then - I'll measure the packaging for you and let you know the dimensions shortly!

    Width: 116
