Just got the new TH37PE50 set up and am watching Soccer Saturday - the scores down the right hand side (the white text in red boxes) are flickering quite badly.

I've got it on cinema setting and have turned everything down to below 50% and am connecting through component (currently routed through my dvd recorder).

Any ideas what it is and how I can fix it?

i saw the same tv this afternoon whilst out in town - it was showing sky sports football updates and there was absolutely no flickering - the picture looked fantastic

I'm sure someone will come along in a bit and give you some advice on how to sort it

I had flickering on my 42PV500 (esp. on a blue background), I replaced the cheap scart cable between the Sky box and the telly for a decent one, flickering has completely disappeared. Lovely picture now :)

Right, I seem to be having problems again.

I was using a THX DVD to do the optimizing bit on my screen last night and noticed a flickering around solid colours with white text again. I have my DVD player connected by component and scart. If I use the scart output it's fine, but when I select the input as component the flickering comes back.

I'm using a Panasonic E55 recorder as my DVD currently, using an IXOS scart and a QED component cable. The picture when watching a DVD through component is much better than when watching through scart and I never notice any flickering during movies.

    What's going on?!?!!!

    Hi Chris,

This may be an obvious question, but if there is no flickering through component when you are watching a film, what are you worrying about? :)

    Hi Urban,

you know what it's like, you see a little problem and it plays on your mind... Component is my preferred input method and want to make sure that there's nothing obvious wrong with the unit.

I know I'm being anal, but I can't help it when it comes to my new toy!

I was up at 12.30 last night using a THX optimizer that I didn't previously know I had... It's really starting to annoy the other half now, I can't seem to leave the remote alone for two seconds!

It is a thing of beauty tho, and everyone who has seen it has been very impressed... especially when I tell them that it only cost £999! I'm moving house this week and it's finally going on the wall!
