This could simply mean that the Viera's in-built progressive scan is better than that of the e55. This means that when you turn off the e55's progressive scan, the viera's takes over and vice versa. Since the picture looks sharper after you've turned off the PS of the e55, then you've to stick with the viera's ps since that's better from what you've described.

    Laurence,
I noticed that on some dvd's the PQ seemed sharper on rgb scart than PSComp but have not bothered to try turning PS off.
Will do and let you know.
    thanks.

thanks all, guess your right dragon its just that i was unsure that you didnt have to have the prog scan on for componant via dvd rec. have read advice that you switch it to prog scan and thought that a few other numpties like me would like to know.
    regards to all.
p.s am still using three profigold interconnect cables for componant as picture is excellent, still not sure if its worth spending 40 bucks ish on a dedicated componant lead, any opinions people ?????
