I have now tried two devices using the component in of my VideoSeven 32" LCD LTV32D.
The picture is very sharp BUT I always get a greenish tinge to the whole picture. I first tried this some months ago with my KIss DP-1500 and thought the DVD player was at fault, however I have just bought a Samsung D950 and exactly the same problem.
Is there anyone else out there with this TV using the component input? Or anyone any other ideas?

    Thanks

I used to own one of these and had exactly the same problem - it's a fault with the screen i'm afraid. Take my advice and spend a little bit extra on a decent screen - it's worth it believe me.

    Hi

I can't believe that a product could get to market with such an obvious fault
    I have a LTV32H which I presume is similar

    So -

Can't you get rid of the green tint with MENU>DISPLAY>HUE

    Thanks for your comments.
I think that the LTV32H is the latest version of these LCD TVs and so may use different components.
However, like you, I find it hard to believe that all of these models (LTV32D) have this fault. That is why I was trying to get Lordpeewee to expand on his reply or get someone else with exactly the same model confirming whether their component input is okay or not.

I will try your suggestion of using the HUE control.

    Lordpeewee ?
    Anyone?

I bought a V7 32" from ebuyer earlier this year. When it arrived it all seemes okay except that there was a green picture when set to progressive scan mode on the component input. It was the fault of the tv as I tried multiple devices with the same result. I sent it back to ebuyer once I (eventually) got a RMA number, and they refunded me. However, they said they could not find a fault and resold it with my letter explaining what was wrong with it still attached to the screen! I had a bloke ringing me up asking me about it because my phone number was still on the letter!

The green tint problem is common to many owners of this screen. The tint function will still not be able to compensate. I have since spent extra cash and got a Hitachi 32LD7200 - great build quality, loads of connections etc etc. Well worth it and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this option to anyone having problems with the V7. Don't trust the Germans! Stick to a brand that you know.

    Hope this helps.

    Maybe that's fair comment.......

Is there a thread that supports this that Dobbin can check out?

Some Hitachi Widescreen CRTs had a poor reputation according to "a TV engineer", if the PSU broke (which they often did) you had to throw them away as they weren't an economic repair.
Not saying any particular brand is reliable/unreliable, you have to rely on other users experiences.

Why, have they "got it in for us"? :D

Thanks to both of you for your comments.

It was interesting to hear that they said they couldn't find a fault with it. I had terrible problems with the V7 through the DVI port and tried 4 different devices. All the same problem. I paid over £20 to send it back (Kommplett) and I eventually got it returned saying that they couldn'y find a problem. However the DVI port was now ok! Had they corrected something?

What I am worried about is exactly the same thing again. Pay to send it back and then they say that they cannot find fault. This is one of the problems of buying via the internet. You cannot take it back to the shop and SHOW them the problem.

I am not sure what to do now.

    Any more comments or views?

    Cheers

There was a massive thread in this forum, about this TV when I purchased it in March 2005. There seemed to be lots of people buying it. Is there anyone out there using the component input successfully (or not)?

    Hi,

I have had it for a few months, and can't say I have noticed a green tint in PS mode. What I have noticed is that the TV or the DVD can't play all in PS. The picture drops out every few seconds meaning I have to switch off PS. One of my mates has just bought the newer version of the DVD player I have, and I am hopefully gonna borrow it for half an hour soon. If it sorts the problem I'll get the same DVD player but if not I'll be contacting V7 !!!

Might see if it can be swopped for the 32H model... hmmm.

    Thanks to both of you.
I will try again and if I get no joy I will call the service company.
