Is it possible to record freeview via videoplus?
I imagine the EPG is the method most would use. Press the 'Guide' button on your remote control, select the programme you want to record, and press the button corresponding to 'Timer Prog'.
Is there a way to synchronise the listed times with the actual times, e.g. if a programme is delayed? A function like PDC but for Freeview?

No, not currently.
It should be possible. When you input the Video plus code select the required AV input on your VCR / DVD-R instead of the channel shown. Then select the required channel on your FV box. However this method won't change channel on the FV box if you are making several recording on different channels.
Roland, Sorry to appear a bit thick, but I don't own a set top box or DVD recorder at the moment, can you please explain which remote control you are referring to i.e STB or DVD recorder. And is EPG a function of the STB or DVD recorder.
I think that EPG is the 7 day program guide which some of the newer digiboxes have, I only have whats on now/next.
Do what Fred said (use the videoplus for the analogue stations only)and then change the channel from say-BBC2 to AV1/AV2
But are Videoplus codes broadcast on Freeview channels? Surely not?
The controller of the STB. Most STB units can control recorders via SCART using something called Qlink / Smart-Link / somesuch trademark. EPG (= electronic programme guide) is a function of boxes (whether televisions, recorders, or STBs) which have Freeview tuners.
Video plus codes are not broadcast anywhere.
Meant PDC codes, oops. They're the small block of rolling black and white lines at the top left of the image, right? Does DVB contain them?
PDC is only broadcast on some analogue transmissions.
