    Hiya,

Doing some general research on camcorders..I see that some come with video lamps, and nearly all have nightmode.

What is the difference, is it just that video lamps are better? Nightmode creates slower shutter speeds doesn't it?

Any disadvantages to video lamps? Perhaps there can be an unnatural light effect on the image?

    Thanks.

When you refer to video lamps are you referring to a built in light or to infra-red?

Hiya - I meant the built-in light. What's the infra-red for, to help with focussing like on digital cameras?
