I am planning to buy a new receiver and want to buy one that minimises the number of leads going to my plasma. Therefore I need a receiver with an upconversion faciilty. My question is... are there any mid range receivers that allow the input of a PC signal via a PC monitor in connector? Or is there another way of doing it?

I think your best bet is to have two runs of cable going to your plasma. A component cable from your AV Receiver to which all of your video sources plug into and a computer monitor cable straight from the computer.

If the graphics card in your computer has an s-video or composite out (a lot of newer ones do) then you could connect that to your receiver. Crustyloafer's way of doing it would probably be better quality though.
