    Hiya

New to the forum, just looking for some advice and help please!!

Just purchased panasonic e50 multi region from richer sounds, very good purchase along with the rest of the home cinema set up, wont bore anyone with what I have, jus bog standard.

The problem I have is with setting a video recorder to the E50 unit, I am receiving black and white pictures, I wondered if anyone could shed any light on the matter, whether it be black and white or colour.

    Thanks in advance

By the way its one of the best things i've ever bought.

Looking forward to the plasma shortly.

What type of cables/inputs have you used to connect the vcr to the E50? What are your connection settings for the AV inputs on the E50? Are you selecting one of the AV channels on the E50 to view the VCR?

Whichever input you are using on the recorder, change the setting on'connections' to 'video'.Make sure you change it back to RGB or s-video when reconnecting Sky,or whatever other device you normally have connected there.

I had this problem too. until I realized that the settings were not matched at both ends. For example "Video" one end and "S" vide the other end will give you black and white picture.

This here Panasonic does (on one of the SCARTS).

Oh and someone asked about the price from RS. The one in Watford wouldn't budge on the 300UKP - which is the same as the usual high street shops.

I got mine from a shop in Ruislip for 270.

No link included and, as stated previously, VCRs do not output RGB. An SVHS recorder will output SVHS from an SVHS tape. though.
