video system selection question

Hi all,

I have my tosh dr1 outputting a progressive signal to my
sanyo z1,

My question is what is the best video system selection to use it offers 1080i, 1035i, 720p, 575p, 480p, 575i, 480i or auto?

Also what do all these settings do? BTW its currently on the default setting of auto which works fine but i was wondering if i could change to one of these for better results.

Many thanks for reading and for any replies
Regards,
John.

Assuming you are talking about the Sanyo then they are the resolutions it accepts. If your Toshiba is outputting a Progressive signal then it's likely to be 480p for NTSC and 575p for PAL (assuming it can output PAL Progressive).

Yes its pal prog and not ntsc as the machine is R2 only.

Thanks Jase that makes it pretty clear.

Yep, just leave your Z1 on "auto" & it will sync to whatever signal it's receiving.
