    Hi

Just had Sky+ installed yesterday and was looking at getting something to send the signal upstairs to the bedroom.

Whats the best method to do this?

Had a quick search and saw video senders mentioned. These look good as they're wireless which is a big bonus as could do without running more cables.. But there about £70 for the ones I saw at Maplins which is a tad more than I'd like to pay really.

    Any advice appreciated.

    Cheers

Make sure you get one that is 5.8 Ghz . You might have to pay a little more but it will be worth it . Had the 2.4 Ghz one and was always losing signal . Got the Nikkai video sender kit from maplins last week n not had any probs . You can pick them up on ebay for a little less

Which one do you use? Not overly bothered about not changing channel.

Yeah read about the frequency, also the wireless router uses 2.4 I think so it'd cause some interference. Shall have a look on ebay, cheers.

just ordered the maplins nikkai ? on offer at Maplins at the moment with free delivery and a further £3 off ! ... I've read somewhere in these forums that they can operate the Sky+ functions ... suppose you we can return them to Maplins if they dont work ... so sure you can get the same with ebay.

Looking at Maplins website, they sell two 5.8 units, one which has a remote control function, currently discounted to £59.99 which is the HQ model code A13HX. The other one, code A00HR, appears not to have remote control functionality.

I have just bought the HQ model from Maplins. I have Sky HD and its straight forward to setup and all remote control functions work.
