    Hi there,

I'm looking for a program that can shrink/compress video files

I currently have 100's of large mkv files which I normally watch on a 42" TV but recently acquired a Galaxy Tab 2.0 so would like to be able to shrink them down to play on a 7" screen

I know they all play fine as they are but when averaging 4gb each this seems rather excessive for whats really needed for a device and screen of that size

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks

Get Handbrake and select the Android high preset, that will squash the videos down.

If you want to be more precise, try selecting the high profile preset and use the mp4 container
    1) on the picture tab set the video width size to 1024 or lower (tab 2 has 1024x600 display)
    2) on the video tab the RF value sets the compression level increase in small increments like going from RF20-21 will see a reduction in size.
    3) click add button to save the preset
