reflash the phone is the best i can suggest (and leave dTunes off) There most likely is a fix, but if there is you will have to go looking through the bowels of the file system.

    just restore it.

Hi, thanks for your reply I was thinking of restoring it but I'm on a jailbroken phone using yellowsnow for vodafone and as there is no crack update for 2.2.1 I won't be able to use yellowsnow till the dev team make it possible! Any other ideas?

    Thanks again for advice

you don't have to use the new firmware use an existing 2.2 - look on iclarified i'm sure they have instructions on how to do it (or failing that google it)

    I've fixed it!!

go to cydia and remove the safari download plugin - its this that is causing the problem - i'm not sure if dTunes works without the plugin i removed both as it had screwed up my iPlayer too.

just for info guys - repeat after me "google is your friend" :smashin: it took 5 mins to fix (and most of the that time was the phone doing stuff) i found the solution in under a minute. Just type "dTunes breaks iPlayer" into google - the solution is in the first link. sorry speech over. now go and fix iPlayer.

Hey you, I searched google too .... maybe need to be more concise as " certain video files won't play on iphone since dtunes install" didn't get the desired results!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks anyway, now watching terry pratchet living with alzheimers!!
