I am having problems playing back recorded TV.
Everything was going fine until a couple of days ago but now every 1-2mins into recorded TV the video and sound jumps forward a second or so.

I can instantly skip back and play the same part without the jump, which would appear not to be a record/signal issue.

    This is my PC:-

    P4 3.0 Ghz
    512Mb RAM
    GeForce FX 5200.

It appears to be some type of playback performance issue. I have also tried defrag'ing the hard disk.
Any ideas? As this is really frustrating watching something I have recorded waiting for the jump every couple of mins!

I dont really wanna re-install MCE 2005 again to get things going!

not that this helps but i have the same issue. doesn't happen on every recording, but it's very frustrating when it does happen. and yes, it seems to be playback rather than capture as you can skip back and it's fine.

    having the same problem.
My fix is playback in Windows media player is fine..
But annonying playback in windows mce not so good.
records show fine then can't play it back
and can't watch tv because it stalls while playing..

    here some more info:

bite rate is set to high not highest, puting it out to tv, used both nivida and cyberlink dvd/mce decoders
    using hauppage 500 dual tuner
    2gig ram
sieral ata 2 80 and 200 gig drives
    tried both
playback works a little better dropping serial ata 1
using athlon 64 4800 cpu dual core
