    Hi there y'all,

I've found a very useful tip here to adjust the volume of my sony NW-HD1, so I hope I can find some other specialists here :)

I'm having troubles with the playback of certain videos (especially with mpg's or so it seems). I have recent divX-drivers installed, so that's not the issue here.

What happens: some videos are played back in a different time format or something: videos that should take 5 minutes are played back in 30 seconds or so, videos of 20 minutes are played back in 1 to 2 minutes. Don't get me wrong: they are not played off too fast, they just play off a part of it; if you use the search bar in a media player, it starts at were you pointed it (e.g halfway the video), but then you have some 15 seconds or so left...

It's not a driver problem I guess. I've installed different versions of Realplayer, DivXplayer and Windows Media player, so that's not the issue here.

Weirdest thing is: these videos play back without troubles on my 6-year old desktop (windows 98 SE  ), but this thing happens always on my laptop (XP Home). So I guess it should be a sort of 'general' software problem, because different players have the same problem.

It can't be that I'm the only one with this problem? So their should be some kind of software that I can install to solve the problem, right?

    Any tips :lease:

    Thanks
