Don't know where you are located, but unless it is the USA, Japan of maybe Aussieland, do you really mean an hdtv?

It doesn't really matter what size of screen you buy, excessive use of video games can burn in permanent images on TV tubes which can't be removed.

Plasma screens are worst affected, but any set is liable to be affected eventually - look for the 'ghost' images on arcade and cash machines and you'll see it.

Keeping the contrast and brightness levels reasonable can help as well as switching to a different pictures at regular intervals.

Nothing to do with hdtv - all tvs can be affected.
