    Hi,

I am quite sure that anyone know about this Video Essentials series from Joe Kane.

Are there any alternative products? That is good, of course.

The thing is, I have 46" Samsung LCD TV ... but I dont have Blu-Ray/HDDVD.

Is it ok to calibrate by using the SD DVD calibration video?

    Thanks.

I don't understand. You state you have an LCD TV so I will presume that it is a HDTV. But you don't have any HD input sources? Or perhaps you are using SkyHD or FreeSat or whatever? Please clarify what you use the TV for.

I would recommend getting the HD-DVD/DVD combination version of Digital Video Essentials from HMV for £4.99. At least then you can calibrate your TV to your DVD player. I will assume you have a DVD player but you don't state this.

Strictly speaking you need to calibrate every used input on your TV with the device it will be used on. For example, if you did have a BD player on HDMI#1 and a HD-DVD player on HDMI#2 then you'd need both disc versions to calibrate both devices on both inputs. You couldn't just bung the DVD version into both.
