Video converting software for ydl - any suggestions?

Hi all, need a bit of advice I am looking to rip my dvd to linux and then convert them to a format that is playable on the ps3 os, so I can rip the dvd - convert to relevent format and transfer it on to the ps3 os and store it there

I dont think that is possible at present, YDL cant even playback retail DVDs because of their encryption.
