    God I'm confused,

I thought I had it sussed:-

    - Denon 2805 to handle all audio and video inputs
    - component video output to plasma component board (one cable)

now my mate is saying no no no no, keep the video and audio seperate, he says:-

    - get a quinttro to receive all the video inputs and output rgb to the plasma via the svga connection
    - get an amp to handle all the audio

    arrrggghhhh :suicide:

what are the benefits of either way before i order up the wrong kit/cables!!

Some people do not connect their video sources as they feel it may degrade the signal, they go direct to tv instead, It depends on how many sources you have tbh.

Ok, sorry about that confusion

Well what you described in your initial post is probably the best way forward. Having the one lead from the amp to tv is convenient and will allow easy video swicthing.

The Denon 2805 is a quality amp, you won't have any problems putting all of your sources (audio & video) - and up converting the video sources to component will give you great quality anyway.

Go ahead and order those cables
