Video 8 to pc problem

I have just bought a used Sanyo camcorder to transfer lots of old 8mm video films to my pc to edit and burn to DVD. These films were taken on my old Sony camcorder, which for some reason while in storage has lost the will to work. The little used Sanyo i bought at a bargain price of ebay is in mint condition and works fine, only problem i have is some of my tapes have been recorded in long play mode and the Sanyo has only single play,is there any way i can alter these to single play,i would imagine it would have to be done when they are on the PC, but i am lost as to what to do.

No way, you need a Video 8 player capable of LP - I'm a little surprised that facility is missing from the Sanyo though.

Plus not all makes of cams play LP in the same way(it's too late but LP should never be used:lesson:), to be sure you really need to get another Sony:(
