Vidar, the bomb dog saved by British medic.

I saw this today. Vidar a Belgian Malinois has been saved from being put down by a Welsh medic who's life he may have helped save. Dogs trained by the British armed forces do a marvelous job in Afghanistan saving lives.

I'll always remember watching the repatriation of a bomb disposal soldier at Royal Wootton Bassett. The dog he had worked with died a few hours after the soldier and the dogs body was also with the poor lad during the repatriation. The streets were lined with other military handlers and their dogs. As the hearse came to a halt one dog started to mournfully howl and all the others joined in. I wept.
