Vic & Bob's Luck Sexy Winners

Started earlier this week and is on 4OD.

Comedy legends Vic Reeves and Bob Mortimer return to Channel 4 with a brand new show, ripping up the rule book for panel and quiz show formats and packed jam full of comedy treats.

Comedy legend Eddie Izzard is one of the special celebrity guests putting himself up for Vic and Bob's tough line of questioning, and does battle for some exclusive prizes.

Thrown into an all-singing, all-dancing set are a bucket load of original sketches, including Bob playing Embarrassing Bodies' Dr Christian Jessen and Vic as Miranda Hart. There are also new characters, and special appearances from JLS and Simon Cowell as viewers have never seen them before.

Showing as part of Channel 4's Funny Fortnight.
As a big Vic & Bob fan from the "big night out" days of the early 90's, this was somewhat disappointing. Not really much different to shooting stars reboot, but with fewer guests.

I dont think i laughed once :(

Sorry guys, but a new direction is needed.

well, i laughed pretty much continuously. it was like they were fully unleashed again, with the quiz element just being the backdrop for what they do best; insanely weird nonsense.

is this a series or just a one off, as part of "funny fortnight?"

I heard Bob on Richard Bacon's 5 live programme a week or two ago .... he mentioned that C4 originally were going to revive Shooting Stars after BBC2 axed it, but him and Vic wanted to try a new format instead, so they will be back with this show at some point

Not so sure they will or if they do on the viewing of this first show i have to say it was a pretty poor effort and wont be around long.

After this comment I'd be interested to know whether you've been a fan of any of Vic and Bob's previous stuff?

It was quite entertaining in parts, but other bits just felt like they were trying too hard. Calling the contestants 'Beige 2497' or whatever was just weird & not all that funny.

I know it's probably not the case, but it did feel like they'd lost the rights to do Shooting Stars, so they'd do something similar but just different enough that they wouldn't get in trouble with whoever owns the rights.

The female guest (no clue who she was, think she claimed to be 'an actress') just looked confused throughout. At least Eddie Izzard & Thomas Turgoose got in the spirit of it.

& if nothing else, it was certainly funnier than the quite dire 'Just Around the Corner' which followed it...

Yes I'm definitely a selective fan of their oeuvre. I still think Catterick is the most consistently funny thing they've ever done....so far.

I love anything that Vic and Bob do. Does anyone remember The Club from their Bang Bang programme? With Kinky John? Absolutely brilliant! :rotfl:
