Heard the new little (approx 1 cubic foot) Vibe Alpha 1 sub yesterday. Nice little box, quite heavy, with what appears to be a metal(?) 10" driver, driven by a 200w amp. The crossover is better as there is none of the remote crossover and volume that seems to be downfall of those subs that use it. It's sealed box this time, much like a REL Q150, but much cheaper at retail of £300. It's called the Alpha 1 because the old Alpha is now the Alpha 2. It's a faiurly impressive sub for it's size, and much more musical than prviuous Vibe attempts, which were very HC orientated. I've not heard the direct competition yet (the new B&W ASW600(?)), but it seems better than the ASW500. Oh, it's finsihed in the standard black gloss snake skin finish of all the Vibes. Overall fairly impressed.
