Do you want to do extensive editing (eg by using a PC) or do you want a simple table top DVD recorder to connect up to your VCR to do a straight copy?

I bought a Panasonic E85 DVD/HDD recorder and it's easy to convert my old VHS tapes to DVD. If you copy to the hard disc first it means you can edit it as well. You will only be able to do this with your own tapes though and not copy protected ones.

This is a common question in the Video Camera section of this forum. Do a search in there for loads of info on copying VHS to DVD - but it is mainly based around PC editing, but I have given advice on how to go about it with just a standalone DVD recorder as well as on a PC.
