vhs to dvd with panny e50

    am thinking of getting one of these so i can transver my vhs collection to dvd .will the quility be as good as a dedicated pc capture card.which route do you think i should take

    Quality is excellent with the E50, although some tapes have copy protection (there are special scart leads to get around this). Capture card route is fraught with difficulties and, from what I've read, the standalone recorder way is far easier and with a least equally good results. FR mode on the pannies is ideal for vhs to dvd since you can maximise the bitrate to fill a dvd-r.
