VHS Backup??

    If I get one of these cheap DVD recorders from asda or tesco. can I hok up a VCR to it and convert old VHS to DVD?

    If they're non-commercial then any DVD recorder will copy videos simply by linking them together with a suitable lead, such as a scart. If they're commercial you'd need some way to overcome the Macrovision copy protection that would most likely be on the tape. Which, of course, would be illegal.
