I've just changed from component to vga.

Benefits are full 1080p, upscaling standard DVDs and Forza 2 (only game I've tested back to back so far) looks sharper, less blocky.

This has been discussed before, but i'll still vote in here, out of the two it is VGA. But maybes you should add HDMI to the list? A LOT of people are using that now :)

I use component. I got the VGA cable but prefer the deep colours on component. My telly does 720P as well so don't need 1080P.

I am the opposite.Although when I first switched from component to VGA the more muted colours put me off a bit I lived with it for a while. When switching back to component I thought it looked a bit cartoonish, soon switched back to VGA.

VGA all the way, sharper on my screen and since the reference colour updates looks better than component on the colour front too.

i voted VGA for the sake of the poll, but i use HDMI.

I work at RadioShack (US) and we get a deal off Monster Brand Cables (70% off retail price)... so I'm rocking THIS

They have all the quality of monsters highest end cables, just in a new sleek design.

    Retails for $91.99
    I paid $28.00

I've used both Component and VGA with my Samsung LE26R87BDX.

VGA is slightly sharper, but the difference wasn't huge.

VGA is the better method for both image sharpness and true colour representation. Unfortunatley people who have got use to the cartoon colours that TV makers think we want will feel VGA is 'washed out' in comparison. In effect VGA is true to life and much more acurate.

I voted VGA although I would spend a bit more on a decent cable such as the monster rather than that 'official' one you showed.

monster cables are widely know to be a rip off.....you've just added to the body of evidence.

    EH???

Monster cables are widely known to be the best. I've personally tested prety much all available cables properly and I can assure you that before I built an inglenook fireplace with cables fully bricked in I made 100% certain I was using the best cable money can buy for the 360. That cable is the monster VGA.

Please feel free to post your evidence and experiences that contradict this

As a retail that deals with many cables, including monster, i have pretty much tested out every available cable. I'm talking everything from store brand, to Sony, to Monster...

Yes monster may "seem" to be a bit on the pricey side, but you have to take a look at what your getting.

I would like to know why you think they are a rip off, some sort of evidence, as I'm sure many other people would, because you would be saving a lot of people their hard earned cash due to the fact that Monster is the best selling brand out there
