    Hi,

I have an old Sharp XV380H LCD projector, happy enough with the results but the big limitation is no SVGA inputs.. only S-Video or composite..

I have a fully functional HTPC minus the quality video connection and was wondering about conversion of the VGA signal or maybe utilising a TV-Out facility...

Has anyone experimented with VGA to S-Video conversion, I have seen various external boxes advertised from £70 upwards... that can convert 640/480 upto 1280/1024 and will down convert to PAL or NTSC...

What sort of quality can I expect? etc

    Am I wasting my time??

    Any advice much appreciated...

I made the mistake of buying a £250 VGA - svideo converter thinking I might get a decent result. One word; Rubbish
