VGA to HDMI which converter with audio

Hi,

I have a VGA cable that I need to convert to HDMI as I can't physically install a new HDMI cable.

The problem is I need to the cable to support audio. Can the VGA cable carry audio? I'm a little confused with the converters on the market.

The TV does not have a standard audio jack 'in' plug either.

I know the resolution won't be as good as hdmi but this is mainly for slide shows etc. I don't want to spend loads either, ideally £20 or £30 max per adaptor. What's my solution?

Thanks in advance.

You would need something like this

Ex-Pro® AV-Pro VGA & Audio to HDMI Converter, Full HD: Amazon.co.uk: Electronics

VGA does not carry audio and is analog.
HDMI is all digital and audio is inserted into the video signal, there is no separate audio channel.
The box therefore, contains circuitry that does the analog to digital conversion and inserts the audio.
You need a separate connection on the input of the box to carry the associated audio.

Note: I have no experience of the product I linked too, its just an example of what you need.
