Would using a VGA to DVI cable like one seen HERE give good results for HD output via my HTPC?

At the moment I need a solution for getting a HD signal from the VGA output on my Radeon X850 XT into the DVI input on my Hitachi plasma. I can still get good resolutions, but it is technically still analogue.

Due to room lay out and cabling, it isn't practical to simply run a dvi to dvi from the pc at the moment and a vga cable already runs under the floor.
It may just save may from having to build a brand new HTPC in the same room as my hi spek desktop.

Forget that. I've just realized that it only enables a DVI-A connection.
Back to the drawing board.
