what would look better 720p (VGA) or 1080i (Component)?
I am currently running my 360 hd dvd player through component to my Panasonic TH42PZ70 and the picture does look fantastic. However i read that vga was better so was just wondering if anyone could help clarify that for me and would it be worth making the change to vga.

cheers

vga does give you some upscaling abilities but i tend to think the vga pic for movies isnt great. component gives you better colour blacks etc...why are you not running 1080p on your pz70?

I have tried both on the Xbox360 to the projector and preferred VGA. I had to get a VGA cable as at the time, the component input was taken up with something else.

i think i will try out the vga route and see what happens, if its no good, i can just go back to component. The reason behind not using HDMI is because i have an older premium 360, not the new elite or arcade models. was initially going to trade it in for a elite but have decided to wait for the price on HD DVD/Blu Ray Combo players to come down and pick up one of those. its a shame what they're saying about HD DVD and it dying out this year. The picture quality always seemed slightly better than blu-ray.

anyhow, cheers for the input guys!
