Can anyone suggest any good vga cables (1m to 2m) for connecting up a JS Tech VGA to RGB converter to a Panny TH42PW6? I don't want to spend over £30, unless I can be convinced otherwise.

    Hi Tony,

I used an IXOS 1.8m metre VGA cable, and this has a a very good set of plugs, and cable. I believe they are still available. Check the IXOS site.

If you want to move up a little bit from that range, then try http://www.lindy.com/uk/vga_cables.html. They have a few different ranges of VGA cable. I have a recently purchased a 10 metre premium gold svga, for use with my projector. I have been told these are good for the money too.

I you really want to go to town, then you could try www.bettercables.com. They do possibly the best cables in the industry. Joe Ferdanand from the www.tmfsolutions.co.uk, will be able to sort you out...

    Hope this helps

    Lee

Thanks, that is useful. Just one more question - can anyone tell me what VGA connectors I need? Male/Male or Male/Female or Female/Female?

    Hi Tony,

The IXOS 1.8m cable I have, has male connectors on both ends. I had the JS Tech VGA RGB to VGA box linked to my model 4 plasma, and used the above cable, so you will need male connectors on both ends of whatever VGA cable you go for.

    Cheers, Le

Hi Lee, or is it Le? :D

Thanks for the confirmation about the male/male connectors. I tried in vain to find any VGA leads on IXOS site, so I think they may have stopped making them. I also tried a dealer selling IXOS, but he had never heard of them either.

The Lindys look pretty good for the price. Can I take it that the SVGA leads are suitable, and better for my needs?

    Cheers :smashin:

    Hi Tony,

I guess IXOS must have stopped making them now...

I would get the Premium Gold SVGA cables from lindy, as opposed to the standard ones. They use a better quality metal plug, with better shielded cable.

    Cheers, Lee
