I'm currently firing my Sony HS50 from a PC via a 10 metre premium VGA cable from Lindy. I have a static and permanent artifact. A repeated vertical band across the whole image. I've tried my projector with a DVD using composite - no banding, and I've tried the PC using a different (and shorter) VGA cable with no banding.
Has anyone noticed this effect before and what was the resolution?
I've posted this thread also in the projector forum and someone suggested I checked for coils in the cable and whether it passed an power sockets. I tried these and the bands didn't shift an inch!
Do I have bad cable? Is it too long?

What Output resolution do you have your PC Running at and what happens if you reduce it.
