Has anybody used all share play app??

Maybe I can stream my laptop across? Not sure how this works...

Apologies for the false lead; I just navigated to the eManual from your link and found the PC connection part - only DVI / HDMI supported.

So no hope to connect laptop other than converter?

Probably not - what is th emake and model of your laptop ?
Some Dell laptops had only a VGA port but produced a DVI output if lodged into the right Dell Docking bay.

Then that one has an S-video output that you could also use, although it won't be fantastic resolution.
You should be able to check via your manual or the Sony website as to whether the right docking bay for your PC adds DVI or HDMI.

Depends on how you want to use PC
Just playing files use share all or servio or similar. Could just transfer files to USB Storage.
Playing programs from PC use "PC to TV composite converter" as in Maplins

S-video should be better looking (higher quality) than composite.

GRAND PC VISION - GRANDTEC - ADAPTOR, USB TO HDMI, PC VISION | CPC

One of these will do the job and look 100x better than S-Video. Avoid the VGA - HDMI converters as I have yet to find one that is entirely stable!

The one linked to generates HDMI directly, so no conversion. It is fine for everything except complex high frame rate games and movies at 1080p. When playing films, switch to 720p and it works well.
