I will be connecting my Infocus X1 to my pioneer DV655A using the component output. The X1 will be ceiling mounted and I need to use an extension cable.

My dilemna is: Should I get component cable extension or a VGA cable extension? (The X1 uses a VESA to component adapter, I was thinking to install a VGA extension cable between the projector and VESA to component adapter or another option would be to use a component cable extension between my DVD player and the VESA to component adapter of the X1).

    Thanks!

Pretty much down to which is more convenient, looks better & you prefer.

Good quality VGA cables available from Lindy at reasonable prices.

No real-world difference between VGA/component in this situation as you're sending the same signal.

    Hi agendrano

is the DV655A a progressive output machine? The VGA input is used for this. For an interlaced output you will need to go via the X1's modified S-Video input with their adaptor for a component signal.

The 655A is a progressive DVD player.

    Thanks for the info.
