I have an htpc that i built about 5 month ago with the following components

    Gigabyte GA-M57SLI-S4
    AMD 6000 athlon x2
    4gb ram
    ATI 2600 PRO

Im connecting to a 46" plasma via hdmi.

Everything worked fine for months but in the last week i have noticed a slight stutter in all mkv files, blu-rays, no matter what video format or player i use.

If i resize the player screen so i can see the video and my desktop i can see what looks like flickering and this seems to cause the video to stutter.

This only appears when playing videos, cant see it any other time

I dont know the best way to explain it.

I have tried numerous drivers for the gpu, this has not helped, i have also reinstalled vista on two different hard drives with the same result.

With a fresh install of the os all i installed were the codecs needed and still the problem is there.

I have a feeling it could be hardware related but i will need to test with less ram and different components.

    Any help would be great.

Someone must be able to help.

I have tried a different gpu with the same problems.

I have also tried with only 1 stick of ram and its the same.

Is there a chance that it could be the motherboard.

What refresh rate are you using and what is the source?

Flickering is quite often a sympton of playing back 50Hz (PAL) material at 60Hz (standard desktop resolution) or 24Hz (well actually 23.96 or something BD material) at 50Hz or 60Hz

I managed to fix the problem.

There must of been a setting on my tv that didnt like my pc via hdmi, i set them back to default and now everything is ok.
