Just got divorced (hoorah) and decided to splash out on some gadgets....

Is this a decent set up for a newbie or overkill?

    - Panny E95 hdd/dvd recorder
    - Mordaunt Short Speaker Premiere Plus System
    - Pioneer AV Receiver - Silver finish. AVRC-VSXD814S or should I go for the Marantz 5400OSE as seen at Peter Tyson for £199.00

Got a Sony widescreen tv with additional centre and rear speakers at the mo but wanted to upgrade the sound.

System will be for movies only

    Thanks for any advice

Just got my D814-s yesterday :D and so far looking very good. More than enough connections / settings to keep me occupied for a while.... Matched to a DV575A.
