Hi,

I need a very long HDMI lead which will connect to a projector which will be located at the back of the living room and this will connect to the Sky HD box at the front of the living room.

I would like to hide the HDMI lead underneath the floorboards, and the distance is 5 meters from the projector to the Sky HD box. Can anyone recommend a cheap long HDMI cable that is 5 meters in length?

Thanks!

‘Very long’ is 10m+.

HDMI cables don’t go around tight bends too well so ensure you have allowed for a bit of curvature in your measurements and intended cable path.

The joint between the Connectors and the cable on an HDMI cable assembly can be a potential weakness in any installation (it’s not too difficult to damage a cable) if it’s a big job to lay the cable beneath your floor boards I’d lay two cables or at least ensure you could use a damaged cable to pull through a replacement (without potentially damaging the new cable as you pull it through!).
