Very close to buying Sony W series 40"...

    ...but considering I'll be watching mostly SD, would I be better investing a few hundred extra on the X? Is it really that much better?

    Oh guys I feel really overwhelmed and might just give up getting an LCD TV altogether!!

    I'm not just saying this because I own one.
    But if your mainly going to be watching SD.
    Go with a Sharp XD1E. They do SD a lot crisper and cleaner then the Bravia's.
    Often making SD freeview look like upscaled HD depending on the signal.

    I wanted to swap for a 40W2000 because I had some issues with my Sharp, and had the choice to exchange for another 'working' set or swap for the Sony. It's the quality of the Sharp's SD that's made me stick with it.

    Have you got the 42" XD1E? This was always an option for me, especially as it's a lot cheaper!

    The one remaining thing for me...is there much evidence of ghosting when playing fast paced games on the XD1E?
