Veneered MDF vs laminated plasterboard?

    So whats better ... two layers of 12 mm MDF (the outer one veneered) or one layer of 25mm laminated plaster board (think its 10mm PB x 5mm insulator x 10mm PB - all bonded)?

    Both to be GG'd to existing ~20mm plasterboard structure.

    gg works best sandwiched between 2 pieces of equal mass, so the 2 12mm boards would be better than 1 single heavy board, though i will check with Ted at GG...

    Howdy Matt!!

    Think I am going with the double layer mdf with GG for my application. Can anyone suggest a good woodworker to do the job for me ... I can do it but with a newborn its going to take me ... probably a year!!!

    congratulations to you and your wife on the arrival of the newborn Steve!

    i dont know a good builder, well..i do, but he charges very very good builder prices...
