    Ok..

Forgetting the price difference... Rel Studio III v Velodyne HGS-18

    Which is better?

and then bringing the cost into it, therefore you can buy two HGS-18's, compare against one Studio III- again which is better?

    Thanks

Velodyne much better, 2 Velodynes 'probably' much better but everyone seems satisfied with 1! But......

To be honest, this isn't a close fight from my Studio 3 demo and short time with 18.

Nuff said, not many people have used both so I believe everything else that follows is purely biased.

HGS-18 all the way, to even think of 2 in my small room is perverse

This is a good comparison with respect to performance.
I wonder why REL's are priced so high?
What is a typical price in UK of VeloHGS18 & RELStudio?
    US Street price = $2000 & $8500 respectively.

I make it a policy never to slam a product I've never used/heard myself but the Studio III seems overpriced.................based on opinions I've seen of it.

Cajunlab - So you could buy 4 x HGS-18s for the price of 1 x Studio III in the states, now I really want to know what the REL sounds like

£4500 for the Rel Studio III

    REL seems unnecessarily high.
Wonder why? Cost or because they can get it?

I prefer the finishes available on the Rels, though.

Finish isn't important for me...i couldn't give a splodge if my Velo HGS-18 was finished in lime green with a pink driver

Actually, the gloss piano black looks the bizz (apart from all the finger print marks.....)......

But, i know what you mean with the big REL's...they have some nice wood finishes.

    Adz.
