I'm not familiar with the vibe but the vx-10 is a very good buy for the money but might struggle to fill the size of room you have with sound. You might be better off going for the bigger brother the cht-10 or even the cht-15 if you can stretch to the £325 new or hold out for a s/h one in the classified..

The Vibe alpha 2 is a good sub and better IMO than some of their bigger ones. With your room size though you might do better with two of them or something like the Servo 15.

At what volumes do you guys play your homecinema....I have got a Velo CHT-10 in a room that is just slightly bigger and it is more than powerful enough to:
    1. Awake my little girl who is sleeping in another wing of our mansion ;-)
    2. Trick the geological survey into thinking that last years earth quake was south of Birmingham whilst in-fact it was in the eastern point of the chilterns.
    3. Scare the Elephants at Whipsnade Zoo.
    4. Make more noise and bass than the Rhino's farting at Whipsnade zoo and Woburn safari park combined ;-)

Oh and my wife loves it most of all as:
    1. It cancels out my snoring during the movies...
    2. And you can feel that base vibrate....

On the other hand the Servo 15 is a great bargain at the new lower price.....
I have not heard the VX10, but the CHT-10 is a perfect companion and plenty you require for that room....and a good addition to your 603's for stereo music if you like that.....

Man... two subs in a room that size would make England sink...

    Cheers,

    Jean-Paul

i was really looking at keepin to my low but i feel more than enough £200 budget
i really cant decide but it seems that everyone really love all that comes from velo its just that at over half the normal price the vibe seems the better buy as it retails at £400 so surely it is better than the velo? no?

please anyone with a vibe please help me in my tough times lol

Can you not compare the two subs side by side?

I had a VIBE alpha one and liked it so I'm biased towards the alpha 2. It's got a bigger driver than the Velo and a larger amp, which means it could possibly go louder than the VX-10.

I thought that several people on the forum had got the VX-10, so if any of them could comment.

If you haven't found them already the websites are:
    VIBE
    Velodyne
    for tech specs.

    thanks for the help
unfortunatly i cannot get them side by side without buying both of them
my theory was the same as yours as the sub is larger and more powerful and also worth more then it should be better
but i have also read some (or loads) of reviews of the vx10 or velodyne as a whole and really rate them for the money
just trying to see if anyone has had the velo and vibe side by side or even had one and upgraded to the other
i will prob go with the vibe as its worth about 500 and i can get it for about 200 same as velo
unless anyone can give any more info??!?!?!?

I think that Avanzato may be the only one who has heard both varieties of sub as the Vibe seems to be comparatively rare and the Velodyne seems to have been purchased blind as either a first sub or an upgrade from a cheap "all in one" so without a useful comparison their owners won't have anything to add.

If you plump for the Vibe, let us know what you think of it.

Ian I've heard a couple of Velodynes but as yet the VX-10 hasn't been one of them. That's why I hoped one of the enthusiastic owners from the last few months would chip in and give an opinion.

But there don't seem to be any.

G1OSE: You'll get more by spending more, especially with the Servo 15 at £399 but for £200 my one-sided opinion is that you won't be disappointed by the VIBE.

And like Ian says let us know how you find it if you decide to get one.
