I have a half hour HD video recorded in using my PAL Handycam which I wish to sent copies to friends in USA. Questions:
    1. Will they be able to play them directly rendered to PAL widescreen DVD at 25fps?
    2. I rendered the file to NTSC DVD at 29.? fps. It appears juddery on my monitor. Would it be smooth on their TVs?
    3. Are there any considerations, other than fps, that could affect their viewing experience?

Without an NTSC TV, I can't check this. Anyone able to help. Thanks.

They should be able to play the PAL version on a computer. Conversion of PAL to NTSC always introduces this sort of problem.

A laptop with hdmi out to a US TV may also work where a standalone DVD player won't.

I suggest cutting a short clip - choose one with movement in - and e-mailing it to your friend in the States.
