vcr to computer help? please!!

    hi folks, i really hope someone can help me.

    i need to burn some old home videos onto my hard drive and make a svcd. how can i connect a panasonic vhs player/recorder with SCART to my computer?? my computer has a single video connection(yellow in colour) and DVi connection.

    please please please help me as soon as possible!

    Welcome to the forums.

    That single yellow connector: is it video in ? Or video out ? I suspect it's video out so you won't be able to capture anything until you buy a capture card.

    I got a Jetway PCTV station PCI card. It has antenna in, video in, sound out. For recording your VCR take video from the VCR to the video in (if you haven't a video out get a Scart adaptor - it has a Scart Plug and socket together with a yellow video phono socket and red and white phono sockets for sound). Connect sound to the line in of your sound card. You get WINDVR with the card and this enables you to record whatever the capture card is playing either TV or video input.
