Not sure if anyone will be able to help with this but here goes anyway.

I have a Hitatch F540E VCR, at least 5 years old, which has the following problem: after viewing for about 40 minutes the quality of the picture becomes quite poor - very grainy.

This happens under the following conditions, all sources are analogue:

    1. Viewing something I have taped.

    2. Viewing a signal via the VCR, meaning I switch on the TV and VCR, switch to AV source on TV so that I am watching the tv signal which is coming through the VCR rather than via the TVs tuner.

    Anyone got any ideas ?

Can you afford £100 for a new one?
