I have a mixture of VHS videos from America (NTSC?) and UK's PAL which I was able to play on my old TV/VCR combo machine.

UK DVD's I used to stick in my Playstation and play as the old machine had a scart socket on it.

I've recently purchased a Philips 6517, I have Sky installed and that leaves me with only one scart socket left on my TV.

So I have a choice of Playstation or VCR recorder.

I need a VCR recorder as I watch a lot of American Sports and they are generally on live at 1am, however I still want the ability to play DVDs.

From what I understand I need a VCR/DVD Recorder of some type.

    Does anyone have any ideas?

I may have read something wrong here but you have:
    - Sky
    - A Playstation That Can Play DVDs
    - A VCR
    - A TV With Only 2 Scart Sockets

You need them all and want to know of a device that can do the job of two of the above? In which case the answer is NOTHING. Connect as follows:

VCR In/Out > VCR In On Sky and then TV Out > TV Scart 1
    Playstation > TV Scart 2

No new equipment required at all. Or did I miss something?

    Hi Rasczak,

I only have Sky, Playstation and TV with 2 Scart Sockets.

The VCR mention was my old all-in-one TV/VCR machine.

I figured if I'm getting a VCR Recorder it may as well be a VCR/DVD as I got a North American DVD when I was in Canada, which won't play on my Playstation.

But with all the formats etc, I'm lost as which one to get.
