I have just bought a Pioneer DV - 454 - very similar to the 350. The machine is supposed to play all disks. I have tried both VCD's and SVCD's and when I put them in the machine is says VCD on the display and also on the TV. However, when I start to play I get three images fiickering up and down on the screen. The sound comes out o.k. though. Any suggestions as to what the problem is ? It plays dvd's and MP3's o.k.

i have the dv350 and it plays vcd`s no problem.
it is supposed to be the same machine as the 454, just without an optical connection, so don`t know why you are having those problems.sorry.

It could be that the VCD/SVCD is NTSC. Do your TV's support NTSC playback?
